[ Mutterland ] the corner deli-shop, hamburg, Germany.
Mutterland (in Dutch), Mother Country (in English), the corner shop goes chic in hamburg Germany. Mutterland is located around the corner from the main train station. The 5m-high room is equipped with a shelving system that reminds you of grey-painted fruit cases, a large front window that lets in lots of light, and an approx. 12m-long tiled bar featuring an assortment of sweets.
At the front of the shop, Jan Schawe offers fresh meals, salads and sandwiches as well as yogurt, German curd and granola dishes. You’ll also find the mandatory coffee-to-go and fresh juices.

And like the corner shops of the past, here you’ll also find homemade marmalades. The shop features renowned brands such as chocolate by Most, baked goods from Effenberger and Springer organic bakeries, wine from vineyard Prinz von Hessen, spices from Alfons Schuhbeck and smoothies from Ehrlich Trinken. Schawe also has venison pâté and biscuits from Fürsten von Schaumburg-Lippe in stock.
